RESET: An Invitation to LeveL UP
Last week, I had an encounter with the Holy Spirit that was just too good not to share!
Recently, a fellow life coach and I, have been promoting a Prophetic Life Coaching Retreat taking place next month; Miracles in Miami.
We'll be in South Beach, Miami out in the Art Deco District, and we're hosting a three-day weekend retreat. This is a time for us sit down and focus on our lives, our purpose, getting inner healing, and basically become the best versions of ourselves. This is our opportunity to focus on us, self-care, boss up, and get ready for this next season.
So last Saturday, I'm sitting on my couch minding my own business when Holy Spirit starts talking to me about the retreat. He says,
“This retreat is a RESET! This retreat is an invitation to level up.”
And it really is! He continues to download and pouring into me for the next 10 minutes or so.
When I coach clients, my clients fall into different categories.
Some clients are just confused and are seeking clarity. They don't know what they're supposed to be doing. Their questions are more like, “What is my purpose?” or “What is my calling in life?”, “Do I even have a purpose or calling?“
For those clients, we have to break down a lot of wrong mindsets and deprogram them from a lot of the lies the enemy has been feeding them for years. Then we work to get them back in tune with God; listening to what He's saying, teaching them how to recognize God’s voice so they can receive their marching orders.
Another category of coaching clients that come my way, are those who already know their purpose and calling.
To some level, they're already operating in it. What I love about working with this group is I'm simply helping them to learn to transition and to pivot into different seasons. We seek out prophetic strategy from God and they launch into their new!
What do I mean when I say helping them pivot in different seasons?
I'll use myself as an example. I know that one purpose/calling on my life is Isaiah 61:1-4. It reads,
1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins,
They shall raise up the former desolations,
And they shall repair the ruined cities,
The desolations of many generations.
Twenty years ago, what did that look like? I was in a corporate environment. God called me to start a bible study during lunch break. So that's what I did. I was preaching the good news to the poor. People got saved. People rededicated their lives to Christ, it was wonderful.
Then the season changed. The grace for the Bible study lifted. There were many scheduling conflicts. Finding a conference room became more challenging and we phased out of it. My next marching order from God was to put a prayer box on my desk so people could submit prayer requests.
I literally had this little prayer box on my desk at work, and it was anonymous. There were days I would come back from lunch and see that thing filled up, and I would pray. In that season, it was not uncommon for co-workers to come back and share testimonies of breakthrough and finding hope because of what God did! He was consoling those who were mourning through this prayer box!
In 2020, He had me write a book, Pressed But Not Crushed. A book focused on helping believers persevere amid adversity and spiritual warfare. Proclaiming liberty to captives!
In 2021, He instructed me get my life coaching certification. To help believers walk out their purpose. I can’t tell you how many “ruined cities” He’s repaired in the coaching process! I absolutely love what I do! Infusing believers with HOPE with every call!
My point is, in different seasons of life, the same purpose and calling can be expressed in various ways.
I want to encourage those who may be feeling stuck.
You know what your purpose and calling is. But maybe you're feeling like, “What am I supposed to be doing now with it?” or “What do I do next?” What you did in the last season, may not be what He wants you to do today.
The purpose of this Miracles in Miami Retreat is to help you pivot and solidify your next steps with a blueprint from God. Now here's where it gets really interesting.
That evening with Holy Spirit, He reminded me of the story of Queen Esther (in the Bible). She was an orphan; she had to go and stay with her uncle Mordecai. Holy Spirit was showing me that not only does your destiny/purpose manifest differently in different seasons, but often your last season is the foundation for your next season, and you keep building upon it.
So think of it like as a multilayer cake or think of it as a building with multiple stories. Holy Spirit start pointing out aspects of Esther’s story:
Esther was orphaned. She had to go stay with her uncle Mordecai. I believe that season was the foundation of her call and purpose. She was learning to listen to Mordecai and obey his authority.
2. Next, she's offered as a potential queen after Queen Vashti was booted out. She embarks on an intense season of preparation. New season, same purpose and calling. Now she's being trained. It wasn’t only baths, perfumes and beauty treatments. She had to learn the protocol of the palace! They had to have been training her to be a queen, right?
3. Boom! She gets selected by the king. Now she's Queen Esther. Many would have looked at that situation and said, “She's made it. She's arrived. You did that, girl! Destiny and purpose fulfilled. Check!” But that was just the beginning. She was a Jew that was put in that position. If you're familiar with the story, you know what happened next.One day, she finds out that her uncle Mordecai is out at the gate in Ashes and Sackcloth. She sends a messenger to find out what’s happening. That's when Haman's whole plan got exposed. And Mordecai is telling her to go to the king and talk to him. She’s not convinced because of the life-or-death repercussions.
And I love this part … Mordecai reminds her, in Esther 4:14, “who knows if perhaps you were made queen for such a time as this.”There are aspects of our purpose that are extremely time sensitive!
She was trained up and positioned to be where she needed to be to save an entire race of people!
Sometimes the assignments God gives you doing seem pointless. You wonder why does God have you doing certain assignments? Why does He have you walking through this “odd” open door? Some of these assignments feel like useless, busy work. You may wonder what is the point of it all. Many times, it is just a foundation that is being set for the next level He has you.
And that's why it's so important to prioritize obedience. You want to be in a place where He trusts you, so He can give you the next assignment. He's not going to start building the next level until the foundation/level underneath it is set in place. Every level queues you up for the next level.The next thing that Holy showed me… I'm very visual person, so He speaks to me in analogies and word pictures.
He showed me a boxer, in a boxing ring. When each round is over, he takes a break. He goes back to the corner. What happens there?1. He gets refreshed. Usually, water's being poured into his mouth.
He's getting healed/bandaged up. Cleaning up blood. Addressing wounds.
He's getting some first aid. Simultaneously, the coach is there giving him strategy. He's pointing out the opponent’s weaknesses. He’s telling the boxer how to improve and how to be stronger.
There are some similarities in Esther’s story.
After Mordecai told her to go the king, what happened? She pulled away. Esther 4:16 says she pulled away with her servants. They fasted and they prayed, and they basically had to connect with heaven to receive the game plan/strategy.
This is what Miracles in Miami is all about.It's that boxer, it's Esther pulling away, getting around like minded people, getting poured into, refreshed, healed up, and getting the strategy for the next season.
I just really want to encourage you to be a part of what we're doing next month.
